Movie Mustache list

This is, without a doubt, one of the greatest top ten lists I've ever read. It really is a shame that they couldn't work Tom Selleck in there somehow. I hope this is some sort of preparation for Andy Samberg's fake mustache in Hot Rod.

Who's Galactica's CAG?

I was musing about my weird girl-crush on Katee Sackhoff and then somehow it occurred to me that, after the last episode of this past season, it's very unclear who Galactica's CAG is. I can't remember if Starbuck or Lee was CAG immediately before Starbuck's "death". But then obviously Lee was CAG after she died. But that was only until Adama dismissed him from the military entirely. And I think maybe Helo was CAG on Galactica at one point in time, but then he became XO. And even though Tigh seems back to relative functionability (and Cylonism), Adama has to be a little wary and probably still has Helo as back up XO. So that rules him out. So that pretty much leaves Athena. And now that I've gotten to this point I realize that I do in fact know who the CAG is because we saw it in the last episodes. It's Racetrack*. I'm guessing it's her rather than Athena since Athena has that baby to raise. And she's a Cylon. So now the question is, will Lee be reinstated into the military, and if so, will he be CAG? Is Kara really alive? (Her recurring role on Bionic Woman is making me question this.) If she is, will she get back on Galactica, or is she just around to convey her messages to Lee via Vipercom?
I have conclusive thoughts on these things. Katee Sackhoff looks gorgeous in the Razor trailer.

*Reevaluation (i.e. rewatching certain episodes) has brought to light that I was incorrect. Helo is Galactica's CAG after Lee's dismissal. Guess he was doing that while on call as backup XO.

Girls gone wild

I feel like ranting about Lindsay Lohan. Her arrest this morning has gotten me thinking about her many exploits and the exploits of those like her: Britney, Paris, Nicole, um...Courtney Love, I guess, and the late Anna Nicole Smith. And the one thing that all of these people have in common that really really bothers me isn't that they're dumb or selfish or spoiled or drug-addled. It's that they're girls. I can't think of a single guy who even comes close to being as much of a public fuck-up as these girls. What's the deal? They're out there giving the rest of us a bad name. I'm not saying that without these few people men wouldn't think women are crazy. Men and women aren't the same. Men think women are crazy. Women think men are insensitive. That's just the way it goes. But these girls are out there making it seem like all women have the potential to be CRAZY-crazy. Not "fighting to protect my family" crazy or "fighting social injustice" crazy. Not even legitimate mental illness crazy. Nope, more like "crazy just for the sake of being crazy" crazy.

The only solution I can think of, short of beating these people senseless, is creating a new gender to categorize them, so the rest of us can get on with being normal women without having to worry about what new types of false impressions are being cast on us simply for being the same gender as a few lunatics. I was going to go on about all the awesome, kickass, not entirely crazy women on TV these days that are way better role models than this group of real people, but I'll refrain.

www.unintentionalcomedy.com?

I kind of want to start a website that catalogs unintentional comedy. My love for The Covenant is quite strong (Shit yeah!) and I feel that my upcoming viewing of the 7 episodes of Hidden Palms that I never watched will prove to be high on this scale too. I think Hidden Palms may qualify as the best teen drama since Skin in the unintentional comedy category. The TWoP recaplets have gotten me excited about the line "I don't believe in circles." Oh, new idea as I was typing this: Podcasts of commentary for unintentionally funny TV and movies. It would be like combining the best of TWoP and MST3K. Too bad I don't have teams of funny friends to write the commentaries. Nevermind. Anyhow, I'd still like to catalog unintentionally funny stuff.

Mileage Running

Wow. I totally did not need to know that this exists. I could see myself being completely addicted to it if I ever decided to give it a try. And I could get so much knitting and reading done while I'm at it. It sounds weirdly awesome. I really have to stop thinking about it before I start booking flights.

More than meets the...you know

Wow. Apparently when there's no new TV for me to watch, I really have nothing to blog about. Well, I've been watching reruns of the Office lately.

Oh yeah, Transformers last night. Transformers was awesome. Josh Duhamel was awesome and hot. Shia LaBoeuf was awesome. He has weird comedic skills unlike anything out there right now. I'll see if I can pinpoint someone from the past that he's like, but I'll have to think about it for a while. With his awkward humor thing and the action-y-ness, I can definitely see him being good in the Indiana Jones series. I really am curious to know if he's been put in there to be the new hero and build the franchise with him as the star. I wish I'd known he was going to be so big when I saw him at the Beverly Center that one time. I would have gotten his autograph or something.
