Fall TV Preview

I'm currently eating Macaroni & Cheese with ground turkey and Pace picante sauce. I can't decide if this is one of my best or one of my worst culinary experiments because I'm alternating between loving it and hating it on a bite-by-bite basis.

So in other news, I've just gone through Entertainment Weekly's Fall TV Preview (my Bible for premiere week) and have a good sense of what new shows I'll try out this year.

First of all, the returning shows that I'll definitely be watching and/or TiVoing:
- How I Met Your Mother (CBS, Mon@8)
- Heroes (NBC, Mon@9)
- Bones (FOX, Tue@8)
- 30 Rock/The Office/Scrubs (NBC, Thur@8:30-10)
And shows that won't be back until Spring:
- Lost (ABC)
- Battlestar Galactica (SciFi)

Now, shows I'm really interested in and will definitely try out for a few episodes:
- Aliens in America (CW, Mon@8:30)
- Chuck (NBC, Mon@8)
- Reaper (CW, Tue@9)
- Pushing Daisies (ABC, Wed@8)
- Bionic Woman (NBC, Wed@9)
- Gossip Girl (CW, Wed@9)

And finally, shows that seem interesting or have some critical acclaim that I will watch the pilots for before passing judgement:
- Viva Laughlin (CBS, Sun@8)
- Life is Wild (CW, Sun@8)
- The Big Bang Theory (CBS, Mon@8:30)
- Samantha Who? (ABC, Mon@9)
- Journeyman (NBC, Mon@10)
- Carpoolers (ABC, Tue@8:30)
- Back to You (FOX, Wed@8)
- Dirty Sexy Money (ABC, Wed@10)
- Life (NBC, Wed@10)
- Big Shots (ABC, Thur@10)
- Moonlight (CBS, Fri@9)

Clearly the first few weeks will require some TiVoing-one-show-while-watching-another time slots. And obviously I need a number of these to suck and be canceled in order to have a functioning life at all. As I just read on theFutonCritic.com, the success rate of new shows each year is about 32%, so this should be no problem, except that I was about at capacity last year and the only show I've lost is Veronica Mars. Maybe I need some of them to also only be Fall Season shows so I can watch The Sarah Connor Chronicles on Fox in the spring, and possible The Captain, New Amsterdam, and The I.T. Crowd. Honestly, when is someone just going to pay me to watch TV?!? Have I already said that recently? Ugh, plus I'll have to check in on Private Practice and Desperate Housewives occasionally to see Chris Lowell and Nathan Fillion, respectively (honestly Nathan Fillion, Desperate Housewives?! Really?!). And I'm really having a strong desire to go back and catch up on Supernatural on DVD. Well, at least I rarely feel the need to see movies anymore. Honestly, what job is this? And why can't I get it?

doesn't this totally reminds you of shopping period? (yes, I'm a dork to compare TV watching with school, but the possibilities are just endlessly exciting).

Returning shows: HIMYM, Heroes; I can't wait for the Amazing Race to be back but that's in the Spring :-(
New shows: frankly I'm just interested in Gossip Girls (it looks sooo awesome!), *maybe* Bionic Woman if it's good

But you know me, I'll get hooked on some random show just because I'll happen to be flipping through during the pilot.
