Granddaddy issues for Faraday?
5.14 "The Variable"
I liked this episode, mainly because I would like watching Daniel Faraday eat a sandwich. Oh yeah, I also intensely disliked this episode because it appears that Daniel is now dead. This is upsetting to me. Now my entire purpose for watching the show is to see if Miles makes it out of this alive. I'm guessing no.
So, other things about this episode... Well, Desmond is alive. That's good. There was no Ben Linus. Also pleasant. There still seems to be some hope for the Sawyer/Juliet relationship. Mrs. Hawking seems to know an awful lot of things before they happen, like maybe she's been jumping around in time for a good long while now. I am interested to find out the cause of that one. The time travel stuff was making a pretty fair amount of sense to me until they got to the part about variables. How does Daniel's plan about making it so they never crash on the island in the first place deal with the grandfather paradox? If they never crashed on the island in the first place, how do they get there to prevent themselves from crashing on the island? I think this may be Terminator rules as opposed to Back to the Future rules.
